Google reveals Gemini Robotics 2.0, promising improved dexterity and safety

Google has released Gemini Robotics 2.0, a suite of AI models for robotics, and made the upgraded 'embodied reasoning' model, Gemini Robotics ER 2, available to developers via the Gemini Live API. The new release is designed to give humanoid robots improved dexterity and whole-body intelligence, allowing them to perform more complex tasks, continuously analyze changing environments, and collaborate with other machines. This is part of Google DeepMind's effort to build a generalist robot capable of any human task—a goal it sometimes refers to as 'physical AGI.'
